Compensation

Description :

Compensation summary: A strange debt repayment begins. Gu Taegeom, a section chief at the huge illegal loan company, ‘Takatsu’. Chae Hee-on, the only female employee, the accountant. They are nothing more and nothing less than superior and subordinate, until something changes. “My grandmother’s hospital bills are three months overdue.” “Look elsewhere. Even if you’re starving to death today, I won’t lend you money.” Taegeom turns her down outright, but he keeps on getting bothered by Hee-on’s weak side that he has never seen before. When Hee-on later finds herself in danger, he saves her and they drink alcohol together. While Taegeom is knocked out drunk, she steals a kiss from him. “...You, fuck.” “Why are you cussing? Was it that terrible?” Only later does Taegeom realize that the kiss was a ploy to learn the passcode of the office’s safe, but he can’t bring himself to abandon Hee-on, who is standing at the edge of a cliff. “Write this down. Don’t leave out a single word.” A pathetic IOU scribbled on a napkin. 20,000 won a day. Repayment must be in cash without exceptions. “I chase down anyone who borrows money from me to the ends of hell.” Each arduous day ends with an exchange of 20,000 won. Time passes in a blur, not knowing whether they’re repaying a debt or taking on another. Those moments start to sink deeper into their lives.
