Even if I Fall into the Mud, I Will Bloom

Description :

Even if I Fall into the Mud, I Will Bloom summary: “Prince Kyong… you were alive.” The fiancé she believed had died five years ago stood before her. “Yes. I came back to kill you.” His eyes hold nothing but hatred for her. Sofa is the daughter of Emperor Songmun of the Sonyang Kingdom — a man so deeply suspicious that he would kill his own brothers to protect his throne. When political enemies frame the family of Won-i, the son of the loyal retainer Baek-jong who was meant to wed Sofa, the entire household is falsely accused of treason. Sofa fought desperately to save her fiancé, but bound by imperial decree, she could only watch helplessly as his family was destroyed. When news reaches her that Won-i’s head had been displayed in the town square, she tries to follow him in death — and fails. From that point on, she lives on like a corpse. Her older brother Yu-jong, who inherits the throne and holds real power, has always resented Sofa. Using the surviving mother and sister of Won-i as leverage, he forces Sofa into a degrading marriage to a lowly man, dragging her life into the mud. Five years later, a rebellion rises against the tyrannical Yu-jong — and Won-i, the man everyone believed to be dead, returns to the palace as a hero. But the joy of their reunion is short-lived. The man she once loved declares that he has returned to kill her, and her heart breaks all over again.
