Description :

Salt Society summary: Jo Yeon-oh is an extreme dominant alpha, heir to the Haeseong Foundation and CEO of Naban Gallery. By his side since childhood is beta So Gi-hyeon, who has quietly watched over him for years while nurturing his love alone. What once seemed like an unbreakable relationship begins to crack the moment Gi-hyeon confesses. The instant Gi-hyeon reveals the long held feelings in his heart, Yeon-oh responds with a humiliating dry heave. *“You forgot that you’re a beta.”* An alpha who feels a visceral disgust toward dating a beta. Faced with such cruel, bone deep rejection, Gi-hyeon tries to quietly bury his feelings, but Yeon-oh refuses even that. Driven by selfish obsession and a need for control over what he considers his, Jo Yeon-oh will not allow Gi-hyeon to leave his side. *“Fine. Let’s date. You selfish bastard.”* Instead of cutting ties, what begins is a deceitful relationship. Yet because it is Yeon-oh’s choice, Gi-hyeon accepts it without protest. *“If you really can’t stand it, I said I’d help you find someone. Stick to omegas if you can.”* Even while they are dating, Yeon-oh coldly suggests that Gi-hyeon sleep with others, a twisted form of consideration that steadily carves wounds into Gi-hyeon’s heart. Eventually, Gi-hyeon reaches his limit. And at the end of his long, desperate unrequited love, Gi-hyeon is confronted with a physical change he believed could never happen. Jo Yeon-oh, a man armored in warped possessiveness and denial of his own attraction, and So Gi-hyeon, who silently swallowed his wounds until he finally chose to run.
